Chennai: Arappor Iyakkam, an NGO, that threatens government officials and prevent them from discharging duties should be banned, said Black Coat Association.

In a press release, the association said, “Arappor Iyakkam has been identifying itself as NGO and an RTI activist. They twist facts from RTI replies, give false news to media and threaten the parties concerned for money. They prevent officials from discharging duties.”

“They act like urban naxalites. A few of the members of Arappor Iyakkam have encroached Corporation land and constructed building. They threaten officials who want to take action against them. We will give petition to Chennai Corporation Commissioner against such men,” the association said.

“They brainwash youngsters to fight against government and lure them with false promises. They are misguiding them. We will file a complaint with police against them,” it said.
