Veteran filmmaker K Balachander’s daughter-in-law Geetha Kailasam is all set to make her debut on screen as character artiste with Kattil. Written, directed and enacted by E V Ganesh Babu, the movie has Srushti Dange playing the heroine. Geetha Kailasam plays Ganesh Babu’s mother in the movie.
Speaking to News Today, she says, “I was closely associated with K Balachander. I worked as one of the producer in K Balachander’s television serials including Ramani Vs Ramani, Marmadesam, Veetukku Veedu Looty, Anni among others. Though Kattil is my maiden acting venture on big screen, I was involved in the field for long time. Much recently I have penning a lot of short stories. Drama is my passion. I am part of many stage plays. When Ganesh Babu narrated the story to me and asked me to act in the film, I readily agreed. It had an emotional connect and reminded me of Ki Ra’s story Kadhavu. It is an emotional battle within a family. I thoroughly enjoyed shooting for the movie.”
She adds, “I want to be part of good films. I will take up challenging roles.”
