Chennai: Kazakhstan delegation headed by Ambassador of Kazakhstan to India, Yerlan Alimbayev recently visited Tamilnadu. During the visit, the Ambassador and his delegation paid a courtesy call on Tamilnadu Governor, Banwarilal Purohit along with Consul General of Kazakhstan Suraj Shantakumar.
According to a press release, an interaction was held with Confederation of Indian Industry members in Chennai on the investment opportunities in Kazakhstan. CII senior office bearers and regional director of “KazakInvest” company Aigul Nuralina made presentation to the forum during the session.
Speaking about the modern Kazakh–Indian relations, Ambassador noted that India is one of the key political, trade, economic and investment partners for Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is looking at better co-operation with India in different sectors, including agriculture, education, manufacture and food processing, the Ambassador noted. The region of Tamilnadu is emerged to play an important role in the journey ahead. Alimbayev said that the bilateral trade between the two countries is expected to touch two billion dollars this year.
