Jayashri Rao

Chennai: TV actress Jayashri Rao who recently filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband and actor Isvar Ragunathan owing to which the actor was arrested, attempted suicide today. She has been admitted to a private hospital in the city.

In an audio message to her friend and actress Reshma Pasupuleti before taking the extreme step, Jayashri said, ”I am depressed. I have no words. I feel worthless. I don’t want to live anymore. This voice text is to thank you for your support. You treated me like a sister and thanks for being there in my troubled times. It is my good bye message”.

In her police complaint last month, Jayashri said, ”I married the actor despite knowing him to be an alcoholic, Isvar pledged my gold ornaments to buy a flat, that too in his mother’s name. Besides, he would physically torture and assault me, especially when he was drunk, in the presence of his parents who never stood for me”.

Making a shocking revelation, she added that Isvar also abused her daughter and the reason was his affair with another actress Mahalaxmi, who is working with him in the television serial Devathayai Kanden.

According to Jayashri, when she requested Mahalaxmi to leave her husband and move away from them as she has a family, the latter mentioned that they were just ”good friends”. Even after that, Isvar continued talking to his girlfriend and never stopped abusing his wife and child, she claimed.
