Chennai: The two ”terrorists” who were arrested in connection with the murder of Special Sub Inspector Wilson were produced before a court in Kanyakumari this morning.

Abdul Shameem (29) and Thoufeeq (27) from Thiruvithancode near Nagercoil in Kanyakumari were arrested from Uduppi Railway Station, Karnataka.

A joint police team of the ‘Q’ Branch from Tamilnadu and Kerala nabbed the duo. They were produced before Kuzhithura Court today.

According to sources, before being taken to court, the duo said that they should also be shot and killed like Wilson and that they were working on behest of their counterparts in Delhi.

The Tamilnadu ‘Q’ branch who had questioned the accused in Udupi got information that nearly 17 persons were involved in the case. The accused told police that they were trained for suicide attacks.

Sources claimed that the attack was carried out as terrorists wanted to take revenge on the Tamilnadu police who hindered their weapons smuggling activity. They thought that shooting a policeman would create fear among the force.

Unconfirmed reports say that a gang of 11, which included five from Tamilnadu were planning an attack in places such as Karnataka, Delhi and Gujarat.
