Chennai:Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today said industrial corridors will play an important role in the development of the state in the coming days.

Speaking after inaugurating the Diplomatic Outreach Event in the city, Palaniswami said, ‘A MoU has been signed between the National Industrial Corridor Develpoment Authority (NICDA) and TIDCO for the Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor. This is a milestone development.

‘Palaniswami said Tamilnadu has been excelling in sea trade for many years.’Goods manufactured in Tamilnadu are being shipped to many countries. The State was given the good governance award as we excel in education, culture and medicine,’ he added.

He said that Tamilnadu can be called as the SAAS (Software As A Service) capital of India.

‘Several companies are starting their offices here. This is mainly because Tamilnadu is a peaceful State and caters to the various need of the investors including skilled manpower.

Palaniswami added that delegates who have come from different countries should act as a bridge between Tamilnadu and their countries.
‘Not just private companies, but you all should also play a role for your government industries to invest in Tamilnadu. You must also help in the enhancement of eco-tourism and medical tourism,’ he added.

He further said that Tamilnadu government has formed a collaboration team in Japan and Germany.’This team meets at regular intervals and finds solutions to the problems in the companies of those countries,’ he added. Palaniswami said the Zoho health venture which was inaugurated today has invested 16 per cent more than what was agreed.

‘Similarly, Korean company Hanon and Japan company Mitsuba Sical were also inaugurated today. This shows that the State has an amicable environment to begin industries here,’ he added.

He said the Tamilnadu Polymer Industries Park Limited which was inaugurated today is set up by the joint efforts of TIDCO and SIPCOT.’The park established at 250 crore has garnered investment to the tune of Rs 3,000 crore and has provided employment opportunity to more than 7,000 people,’ he said.
