Director Vijay has roped in actress Madhoo to play MGR’s wife Janaki Ramachandran in Thalaivi, a bioic on former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. Poorna, who was last seen in Kaapaan, is playing Jayalalithaa’s aide Sashikala in Thalaivi.
The makers released the second look poster of the film on the occasion of J Jayalalithaa’s 74th birth anniversary on Monday. The poster features Kangana Ranaut in the makeover of Jayalalithaa of the early 80s when she joined MG Ramachandran’s political party AIADMK. Thalaivi is jointly produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh and will release worldwide in three languages on 26 April. Arvind Swami plays MGR in the film.
