Chennai: A day after DMK MLA KPP Samy passed away another MLA from the party is no more.
Gudiyatham MLA S Kathavarayan (60) passed away this morning. He was elected as MLA from the constituency during the byelection which held last year.
He underwent an open heart surgery at the Apollo hospital in Chennai in May. He was admitted again in the hospital after his health got worse. He was under treatment following which he passed away this morning.
Following the demise of two legislators in two days, the DMK has cancelled the party’s MPs meeting which was scheduled to be held tomorrow. DMK’s strength in the Assembly has now come down to 98.
