Chennai:The city police found 200 kgs of red sanders and teak in a vehicle at Pothur Colony in Avadi today.
According to sources, the residents nearby heard continuous honking from an SUV at Pothur Colony. However, there were no occupants in the vehicle. The residents subsequently informed the police who arrived at the spot and inspected the car. They found 200 kilograms of redsanders and teak.
Police suspect the smugglers could have abandoned the vehicle due to the faulty horn. Avadi Tank factory police have registered a case and are conducting inquiries.
