Chennai : Dr Rela Institute & Medical Centre (RIMC) has launched Rela Institute Geriatric ER at Chrompet recently. The ”Geriatric Emergency Suite” was launched by Australian College Of Emergency Medicine president, Dr Sally Mc Carthy and Canada Association of Emergency Physicians & International Federation for Emergency Medicine president, Dr James Ducharme, a press release said.

”This is an initiative for the elderly people who need special care at times of emergency like heart attack, injury due to accident and other common ailments which will be taken care of at the exclusive emergency suite. We also have a dedicated team available 24/7. There is a dedicated emergency helpline round the clock- 044 6666 7788.” said Dr Sai Surendar, senior consultant and clinical lead in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Dr Rela Institute & Medical Centre.

”With elders in need of more medical care and attention, the latest initiative by Dr Rela Institute will no doubt go a long way in serving them and helping them lead a healthy life.” he added.

RIMC, a multi-speciality quaternary care hospital under the leadership of Prof Mohamed Rela was established with a vision to provide clinical care with integrated and highly qualified medical professionals, who are equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, the release said.
