Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami is holding a meeting with Ministers and senior officials about implementing the lockdwon announced by the Central Government in three districts – Chennai, Kanchipuram and Erode. It is said that crucial decisions about the lockdown will be taken during the meeting.
The Central government yesterday announced an unprecedented lockdown of 75 districts in the country in order to combat the threat of novel coronavirus. It has also been decided to suspend the interstate bus services till 31 March, officials said.
”In view of the need to contain the spread of the deadly Covid-19, it was agreed that there was an urgent need to extend the restrictions on the movement of non-essential passenger transport, including interstate transport buses till 31 March,’ a Union Home Ministry official said.
