DMK MLAs to boycott ongoing Assembly session

Chennai: DMK today announced that the party’s legislators will boycott the ongoing Assembly session. DMK whip Chakrapani instructed the party MLAs not to come to the Assembly. He has also asked the MLAs from other districts not to come to the city.

DMK’s alliance parties Congress and IUML have also announced that they are boycotting the session. It may be noted that Speaker P Dhanapal on Saturday announced that the ongoing Assembly session will conclude 31 March. The session was actually slated to go on till 9 April.

The revised schedule stated that the discussion on demand for grants will be held both in the morning and evening till 31 March. The decision was taken following the Business Advisory Committee Meeting. The opposition parties have been asking to curtail the ongoing session due to the recent pandemic.
