Chennai: As many as 14,291 conservancy workers were out on the streets of Chennai sanitising and clearing garbage, even as the entire city wore a deserted look as part of the National lockdown to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
According to sources, 88.2 per cent staffs have turned up for work. It is said only 1,900 did not come out of which 1,013 took leave with permission.
