Chennai: A sticker from Greater Chennai Corporation pasted in front of actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan’s office in Alwarpet stating that he has been quarantined till 10 March sparked tension this morning. However, the poster was removed within some minutes.
Electronic media started airing news that Kamal has developed symptoms of Covid-19. Speaking to News Today, Murali Abbas, spokesperson, MNM, said, “We were shocked to know that such a poster was stuck. Kamal has no travel history. He had been shooting for Indian 2 and after mishaps, he visited those injured. He even appeared before police for enquiry.”
“Moreover, the Alwarpet building (where the sticker was pasted) is not his residence. Rather it is a office. We are wondering whom the Corporation wants to be quarantined? They never spoke to anyone here”.
He even recalled that Kamal even said that he is ready to convert his office as corona special hospital recently.
When asked, Corporation Commissioner Prakash said it was a clerical mistake. “Don’t blow it out of proportion,” he added.
