Chennai: A total of 43,538 people with coronus symptoms were quarantined in Tamilnadu.
Health Secretary Beela Rajesh said 2,000 more beds were added taking the number of beds in isolation wards to 17,000. ”More beds will be added in the coming days”, she added.
On corona updates, she said a total of 2,09,284 were screened. The current admissions stood at 295, including 37 who have tested positive. A total of 1,763 samples tested, 1,632 turned negative, 42 tested positive, besides eight others today, and 89 were under process.
Meanwhile, officials are concerned about 1,500 people from Tamilnadu, who reportedly attended a Thowheed Jamaath conference in Delhi. Since they don’t have the full contact details of the above persons, they are equally concerned about the possibility of cases spreading from these people.
