Let’s stay indoors and practise social distancing for the next few weeks to win the war against the rapidly-spreading coronavirus pandemic. Globally, the confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections on Thursday crossed one million and the fatalities crossed 50,000.
According to experts, social distancing measures are steps you can take to reduce social interaction between people. This will help reduce the transmission of coronavirus. Washing your hands more often – with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use a hand sanitiser when you get home or into work, when you blow your nose, sneeze or cough, eat or handle food.
Unfortunately many in Chennai are seen hitting the streets defying curfew orders. They should fear not just for their own safety but also of the others. They should understand that staying indoors is the only way to fight the virus. Life is important. We can plan all other things later. For now, let’s all follow what the government says and stay safe from COVID 19.
