Chennai: The Tamilnadu Education department is yet to confirm the dates for the class ten board examination. This morning, news spread that the exam would be held in mid-May and students are being prepared for it.
Tamilnadu Teachers Association, president, P K Ilamaran said that they have asked the government to cancel the exam. However, putting all rumours to rest, Minister for School Education, K A Sengottaiyan said, “No decision has been taken on conducting the exams in May. The Chief Minister will take a suitable decision at appropriate time.”
The exams were scheduled to be held on 27 March. Nearly, 9,45,000 students had registered to write them in 16,000 centres under the supervision of more than 50,000 teachers. But they were postponed due to coronavirus pandemic.
