Chennai: A Covid-19 patient was booked by Coimbatore city police for breaking glass of corona isolation ward at ESI hospital in Coimbatore city.
According to police, his wife brought biriyani for him from home and the hospital management refused to allow him to eat outside food. So he broke the glass in a fit of rage.
Seventy seven fresh cases were reported on Friday of them 72 had contracted the virus from five people who had tested positive after attending the Tablighi Jamaat conference in Delhi last month.
All the 77 cases on Friday were reported from already isolated areas, where COVID-19 positive patients resided. Chief Secretary K Shanmugam said the family members of all those tested positive were subjected to testing to prevent spread of the corona pandemic.
