Chennai: Business continuity and employee experience go hand in hand even in the times of crisis. Working from home or working remotely has its own perks, but for the majority who are not used to this kind of working experience absence of face to face interactions and disruption of daily routines can take away the sense of belonging in a company and hamper their employee experience.

“During such times, the more we communicate, the better. Leaders should proactively communicate plans of the organisation to the employees and reiterate company values. To ensure our customers are happy and business happens as usual, leaders need to make sure that they fulfil the needs of employees first,” says Manjula Muthukrishnan, managing director – India, Avalara Technologies Private Limited.

According to her, “From keeping employees around the globe informed about ongoing response to Covid-19 situation to providing maximum flexibility to work remotely, we are trying to ensure that employees do not strain themselves during this lockdown period. We are conducting sessions on how to stay productive, how to engage with team members remotely, how to deal with stress, how to transition between work hours, and personal time.”
