Chennai: Chennai continued to remain on the top of the chart with 228 coronavirus cases, followed by Coimbatore (127), Tiruppur (80), Erode (70), Dindigul (66), Tirunelveli (58), Chengalpattu and Namakkal (50 each), Trichy and Tiruvallur (46 ech), Madurai (44), Theni (43), Karur (42), Nagapattianm (40), Ranipet (39) and Thanjavur (35).
According to official figures, of the 56 cases on Friday, a maximum of 17 was reported from Thanjavur, Chennai (11-one Primary and ten contacts), Kanniyakumari and Tiruvallur and Tenkasi (5 each), Tiruvarur (4), Vellore and Trichy (3 each), Nagapattinam, Theni and Villuppuram (2 each), Karur and Dindugul (one each).
A total of 1,02,842 were under 28 days home quarantine, while 34 asymptomatic passengers from highly affected countries were being quarantined in quarantine facilities near airport and 1,891 under hospital isolation.
It is said 23,934 patients were under active Home Quarantine and 34 in Government quarantine centres, while 1,040 were under treatment.
Till date 29,673 samples have been taken and sent for testing of which 1,323 tested positive 21,628 negative. Results of 2,023 samples were under process, while 4,699 samples were repeat samples of same persons.
