Chennai: Social activist Auto Chandran, also the author of “Lockup” which was later made as the feature film Visaranai has helped a Odisha woman deliver baby in Coimbatore.
Sources said that while Chandran was carrying food packets in his autorickshaw for distribution among migrant workers, one of his friends called him, telling him that a woman was in labour near the local CPI office and urgently needed to be taken to the hospital.
“However by the time he reached there the woman had already gone into labour, following which Chandran helped in the delivery of the baby,” sources said and added that both the mother abd baby are fine and are admitted at the Coimbatore Government Hospital.
