Chennai: The ruling AIADMK today appointed V Pugazhendhi as one of the official spokespersons of the party.
Pugazhendhi who was with TTV Dhinakaran’s AMMK joined AIADMK in January this year in the presence of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam who are also the joint coordinator and coordinator of the AIADMK, respectively.
Pugazhendhi was looking after the prison affairs of AMMK leader V K Sasikala. Even before the split in AIADMK and rise of the AMMK, Pugazhendhi was the AIADMK State secretary for Karnataka.
