Chennai: In a shocking development, 26 staff members of a Tamil news channel have reportedly tested positive for coronavirus, sending shock waves among media fraternity in Chennai.
Though there is no official confirmation about this so far, media circles are agog with the buzz that the 26 employees, their family members and other contacts have been quarantined, while the operations of the TV channel were suspended.
This has come at a time when many journalists in Mumbai are suffering from coronavirus. After two journalists were tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday, the Tamilnadu government has been conducting special testing camps for mediapersons across the State.
