Chennai: More violators were held by the State police for defying Section 144 which is implemented to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
According to statistics provided by the DGP’s office today, as many as 2,81,975 violations were recorded by the police. FIRs have been filed against the offenders.
The release said that, nearly 2,99,108 were arrested. Apart from this, around 2,52,943 vehicles were seized by the police. A fine amount of Rs 2,91,38,654 has been collected by the police. The seized vehicles are being returned to the owners in a systematic manner.
