Chennai: The city continues to see a spike in Covid-19 cases, with Royapuram having the highest number of patients.
According to data released by the Greater Chennai Corporation today, Royapuram has 189 cases until this morning.
On 28 April, 25 new cases were reported. After Royapuram, Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar is the second highest with 169 cases. On 28 April alone 41 persons were tested positive. As of now, in Chennai city, as many as 767 active cases are reported.
Shockingly, most of the zones in the metropolis are not showing a dip in cases. The area-wise break up of Covid 19 patients in 15 districts was released by the civic body.
Teynampet has 85 Covid-19 patients, Tondiarpet has 77 positive cases and Anna Nagar has 73 cases. Kodambakkam has a steady rise with 63 cases and Adyar has so far reported 19 cases. Ambattur now has 20 cases of coronavirus and Valsaravakkam has 30 positive patients.
Manali has just one case, Shollinganallur houses two cases and Perungudi has nine cases.
