Reveal post-lockdown plan soon: Stalin to Union, State govts

Chennai: DMK president M K Stalin today urged the Central and the State governments to reveal post-lockdown plans at the earliest so that people could prepare themselves.

In a statement here, he pointed out that the present lockdown due to coronavirus would come to an end on 3 May. “Without any further delay, the governments should spell out what is coming next,” he added.

Stalin on Wednesday opposed the Centre’s decision to bring the Cauvery Water Management Authority under the Jal Shakti Ministry. The Leader of Opposition said that Chief Minister Palaniswami must convene a cabinet meet and pass a resolution against the Centre’s move.

Earlier in a notification signed by President Ramnath Kovind, it was stated that Cauvery Water Management Authority will be officially brought under the Ministry of Jal Shakti.

The notification stated that Cauvery board, Godavari River Management Board and Krishna River Management Board is being brought under the Department of Water Resources River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation in the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
