Chennai: Koyambedu continued to cause concern to health managers, as seven persons who went to Cuddalore from the vegetable, fruits and flowers wholesale market reportedly tested positive.
According to reports, 20 others from Koyambedu who returned to their home districts Ariyalur and Perambalur too have been tested positive for Covid-19. It is said that 19 of them belong to Perambalur and one to Ariyalur.
It may be recalled that officials tried to shift Koyambedu market to other places in the city after it became hub of coronavirus due to its overcrowded nature, but traders were opposed to the plan.
Meanwhile, Krishnagiri, the sole green zone of Tamilnadu, lost its status today, after a man was tested positive for coronavirus. He belongs to Nallur near Veppanahalli, sources said.
It is said that the man returned home after a spiritual trip from Andhra Pradesh recently. After he tested positive, eight of his relatives and three of his contacts have been quarantined, sources said.
