Chennai: Sending shock waves among milk buyers and users of Amma Canteen, an employee of Aavin’s Madhavaram plant and a staff member of the government’s heavily susbidised eatery have tested positive for Covid-19.
However, officials said people need not worry, as there are no chances for the spread of the pandemic from the above persons as they were quarantined as soon as they showed symptoms.
Sources said the patient, a 52-year-old woman is a long time worker employed at the Amma Canteen in Triplicane, inside the containment zone.
Meanwhile, Aavin officials denied any disruption of milk supply or risk of their other workers and the general public getting affected by Covid-19.
“After an employee suffered a fever, other workers have been prevented from entering into the Madhavaram plant. The plant is in operational with full capacity,” they said.
