Tandoori Idly, a romantic comedy web series, is available in MX Player. It is about a North Indian girl who joins an IT office in Chennai and is directed by Devanshu Arya.
Portraying the character of the North Indian girl, Simran, is Avantika Mishra. Talking about her character and the show, she shares, ‘I love every bit of this series, especially the title âTandoori Idlyâ. The title in itself is quirky and makes people curious about whatâs in it for them. I play Simran, a North Indian girl who has shifted her base to Chennai to pursue her career. A dose of entertainment is a must in peopleâs lives, especially during trying times like these and our series âlTandoori Idly offers exactly that’.
Playing the love interest of Simran is Selvam, a Chennai boy. The character is played by Ajai Prasath. Sharing more, he adds, ‘The struggles of being an outsider to finding that very person whom you can trust, is a beautiful journey which is showcased in our series. I hope audiences enjoy it.’
Says Devanshu Arya, ‘Web is a platform that allows you so much creative liberty to tell different stories which would not suit the sensibilities of TV content or films. Working on this fun filled story was a delightful experience and I hope the viewers enjoy this series as much as we enjoyed while making it.’
The series also has Vikkals Vikram, Vinod Kumar, Whatsaap Mani, Suhasini Sanjeev and Mirchi Saba in pivotal roles.
