Chennai: The first evacuation flight of Air India Express to Chennai from Dubai landed at Chennai International Airport with 179 passengers during the wee hours of today.
Sources said the flight landed at about 1.10 a.m. One more flight is on the way, officials said.
Reports said about 10 flights carrying stranded Indians are expected to land in Chennai – one or two flights daily with a total of about 400 passengers
Meanwhile, the second week of India’s massive repatriation effort will focus on Russia, the CIS nations and Europe, where there are huge student populations, all stranded due to COVID-19 lockdowns across the world.
