Chennai: The Madras High Court today sought a reply from the Tamilnadu government on allowing devotees inside temples again. Due to the lockdown, though rituals are being regularly performed in temples, devotees are not being allowed.
When a plea on this came up for hearing, the Court directed the Tamilnadu government to file its reponse. The Central and State government have said that a decision in this regard would be taken on either 15 or 16 May.
The third phase of the lockdown to combat the spread of Covid-19 will come to an end on 17 May, it is to be noted.
