Chennai: Of the total 7,204 cases, 364 (187 men/177 women) were in the 0-12 age group, 6,33 (4,255/ 2,080/Transgender-2) in 13-60 age group and 503 (310/193) in 60-plus age group.
Districtwise, Chennai continued to remain on top of the COVID chart with 3,839 cases, followed by Cuddalore (395), Tiruvallur (337), Villuppuram (299), Ariyalur (275), Chengalpet (267), Coimbatore (146), Kancheepuram (122), Madurai (117), Tiruppur (114), Dindugul (108) and Peramablur (104).
A total number of 135 people, who have tested positive, were on Sunday discharged, as the number of cured patients increased to 1,959.
Till date 2,43,037 samples, including 13,367 on Sunday, have been taken and sent for testing, of which 7,204 tested positive, 2,35,157 negative, while testing of 676 samples were under process and 10,669 samples were repeat samples of same persons.
The total number of persons tested till date was 2,32,368 which included 12,962 today of which 669 tested positive.
A total of 4,305 suspected individuals were under treatment in isolation wards and 5,195 active cases were under treatment. The State has 53 testing facilities–37 government labs and 16 private labs.
