Chennai: As many as 100 personnel and officers of various ranks of Greater Chennai police have been reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 so far.
According to sources, the list includes two Deputy Commissioners, one Assistant Commissioner. “The affected police personnel have been admitted to different hospitals and their condition is stable,” sources added.
Recently, speaking to News Today, a Sub-Inspector said, “There is no full safety for us as we interact with the public. When doctors wearing PPE kits get the infection, how can we not get it?”
An Inspector of police said that the spread of infection among the uniformed personnel was expected.
