
Chennai: Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement on Tuesday night about a Rs 20 lakh crore economic package, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will address a press conference at 4 pm today.
Her officie said in a tweet: “Finance Minister Smt. @nsitharaman will address a Press Conference today, 13th May 2020, at 4 PM in New Delhi. #EconomicPackage#AatmanirbharBharat #AatmaNirbharBharatAbhiyan #IndiaFightsCorona.”
It is expected that Nirmala would provide the details of Rs 20 lakh crore economic package announced by Modi in his address to the nation last night.
The Prime Minister also announced massive new financial incentives on top of the previously announced packages for a combined stimulus of Rs 20 lakh crore.
Nirmala said on Twitter: “Indian economy has acquired strength in its various dimensions. Now, we can confidently engage with the world. We aim at overall transformation & not incremental changes. We shall convert the pandemic challenge into an opportunity. #AatmanirbharBharat will integrate not isolate.”
She added: “After a devastating earthquake in 2001, Kutch was built, thanks to the undaunted spirit & dedication of its people. Recalling that experience PM @narendramodi felt that people of India will lead the #AatmanirbharBharat Abhiyan.”
