Chennai: A case has filed against DMDK leader Premalatha Vijayakanth, BJP State president L Murugan and others by the Villupuram police.
According to sources, the case has been filed by the Thiruvennainallur police in the district for violating lockdown orders and assembling in front of the house of a 14-year-old girl Jayashree, who was allegedly set ablaze by men linked to the AIADMK.
It is to be noted that both the DMDK and BJP are alliance partners of the AIADMK. Police have filed case against the DMDK and BJP leaders under Sections 143 (punishment for unlawful assembly), 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) read with Section 3 of Epidemic Diseases Act and 51 of Disaster Management Act.
