Chennai: The State police have arrested 4,92,981 persons for violating norms of Section 144 imposed in Tamilnadu. Until this morning, they have recorded 4,65,241 violations.
According to a press release from the DGP’s office, FIRs have been registered against those who violate the rules of lockdown.
The police seized as many as 4,03,777 vehicles from those who stepped out of their houses for non-essential purposes. However, the vehicles are being returned to their owners in a phased manner.
A total amount of Rs 6,39,40,044 has been collected from violators as fines.
