Chennai: There are 5,640 active Coronavirus patients in the city. According to data from the Greater Chennai Corporation, 1,931 patients have recovered from the novel Coronavirus and 57 have died.
The number of Covid 19 cases in Royapuram stands at 1088, the highest in the city. So far, 320 persons have recovered and 15 lives were lost here.
The zone with second highest number of cases is Kodambakkam with 806 active positive cases. The data said that 327 patients were discharged from hospitals and four persons died due to the infection.
Another hotspot, Tondiarpet has nearly 569 persons testing positive for the infection. A total of 147 persons have recovered and tested negative and seven have lost their lives.
Teynampet, also a containment spot, has 568 persons with the virus. 249 persons have recovered and five have died during the lockdown period.
Even as nine persons died in Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, 327 patients have recovered and currently, there are 564 patients with the infection here.
Anna Nagar has 439 persons with the virus. Covid-19 claimed the lives of eight residents here and 163 have reportedly recovered from it.
There are 404 cases of Covid-19 in Valsaravakkam and 137 have recovered from it, while three persons have passed away.
In Adyar, there are 318 patients who have contracted the virus. As many as 90 have tested negative so far and five lives were lost.
The data says that Ambattur has 249 cases of Coronavirus and 81 have recovered from it.
Thiruvottiyur has a total of 159 active Covid-19 cases and 23 have been sent home after testing negative.
Other districts such as Madhavaram has 136 cases, Alandur has 72 coronavirus cases, Manali has 91 cases, Perungudi has 76 cases and Shollinganallur has 101 patients. No lives were lost here.
