Chennai: The police have registered a case against eight persons for assaulting Vicky alias Vignesh Kumar, son of actress Maya at Virugambakkam in Chennai last night. His grandmother is actress Krishna Kumari.
The assault took place near his house at Eighth Street, Dhasarathapuram, Virugambakkam.
Police said, Vicky was unemployed and lived with Krishna Kumari.
He recently got into a fight with one Kannan in his locality. Last night, Kannan came with his friends Sathish Kumar, Kutti, Perumal and four others and attacked Vicky, it is said.
He was subsequently rushed to a hospital by Krishna Kumari.
Police said, the gang attacked him with knives and he suffered injuries in six places and needed 40 stitches. Virugambakkam police have registered a case.
