Chennai: As the city enters a new month of lockdown with many more relaxations, the Covid-19 numbers hit an alarming rate.
This morning, the metropolis of Chennai has recorded 14,802 cases of coronavirus. It continues to be an upward trajectory, with Royapuram reporting 2,737 cases.
A press release from the Greater Chennai City Corporation shows an area-wise break up of Covid-19 figures. Kodambakkam, a hotspot, has 1,798 cases and Teynampet, a containment zone has 1,662 positive cases.
Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, which is on red zone, has hit a mark of 1,556. In Anna Nagar, 1,237 have tested positive for the viral infection. Another hotspot, Tondiarpet recorded 1,662 patients.
There are a total of 484 patients in Thiruvottiyur, 563 cases in Ambattur, 871 Covid positive persons in Valsaravakkam and Adyar has 834 cases.
The release said, there are 206 infected patients in Manali, 364 in Madharavam, 215 in Alandur and 251 in Perungudi and 255 Covid-19 patients in Shollinganallur.
