Salons and beauty parlours were today reopened in Chennai after a long gap of more than two months, due to the Covid-19 induced lockdown.
They were reopened today after the State government allowed salons and beauty parlours to operate with conditions of social distancing and other precautionary measures like not switching on air-conditioners.
Meanwhile, autorickshaws today started plying in Chennai, however with complaints that auto drivers were demanding exorbitant rates at some places.
Auto drives justified their demand by saying that they struggled a lot to make ends meet during the past two months and ran family by obtaining loans from private lendors. ‘We now have to repay them, we can’t run autos for normal rates,’ they said.
