New Delhi: With India being fifth worst-hit country by the coronavirus pandemic, the cases continue to be on rise.
According to Union Health Ministry data this morning, the total number of coronavirus cases in India jumped to 2,66,598 and death toll rose to 7,466.
The country also recorded a single-day spike of 9,987 cases and 266 fatalitiesĀ till 8 am today.
The number of active novel coronavirus cases stands at 1,29,917, while 1,29,214 people have recovered and one patient has migrated. “As many asĀ 48.47 per cent patients have recovered so far,” the Ministry said.
The total number of confirmed cases include foreigners. Of the 266 new deaths reported till this morning, 109 were from Maharashtra, Delhi (62), Gujarat (31), Tamilnadu (17), Haryana (11),Ā West Bengal (9) , Uttar Pradesh (8), Rajasthan (6), Jammu and Kashmir (4), Karnataka (3), Madhya Pradesh (2) and Punjab (2)Ā and in Bihar (1) and Kerala (1).
