Chennai: The Supreme Court today directed the Tamilnadu government to consider selling liquor online.
Listening a plea, the apex court also ordered the government to file a status report on the sale of liquor in the state-owned Tasmac outlets.
A recent Supreme Court order paved the way for resumption of liquor sale in Tamilnadu through Tamilnadu State Marketing Corporation retail vends.
The government recently announced two hours increase in the operational hours of TASMAC.
The State government said that the outlets will be open till 7 pm. It may be noted that the shops were opened from 10 am till 5 pm so far.
