Covid-19 recoveries in Chennai more than patients

Chennai: Even as the city has a rising number of Covid-19 patients, the recovery rates are rather impressive.

According to Greater Chennai Corporation, there are 14,614 who have recovered from the viral infection and 13,493 are currently undergoing treatment for it and 290 have lost their lives in the battle against Covid-19.

Royapuram, a high containment zone, has nearly 2,740 discharged from hospitals and 2023 are hospitalised. 58 people have died here due to the pandemic.

After Royapuram, Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar has the highest causality rate with 51 patients dying.

Tondiarpet has the second highest numbers with 2,120 patients contracting the virus and 1,624 recovering from it and 37 deaths.

Teynampet has 1,785 Covid-19 patients and 1,635 recovering from it and 44 persons died because of it.

Kodambakkam, another red zone area has 1,311 cases. The recovery rate is higher here with 1,776 undergoing treatment and getting discharged from hospitals.
Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, has hit a mark of cases 1,041 and the number of recovered stands at 1,776.

In Anna Nagar, 1,524 have tested positive for the viral infection and 1,228 have been discharged so far. Adyar has 745 cases of Covid-19.

There are a total of 405 Covid positive persons in Valsaravakkam, 420 cases in Ambattur and 609 patients in Thiruvotriyur.

There are 375 patients in Madharavam, 357 in Alandur and 283 in Perungudi and 277 Covid-19 patients in Shollinganallur. Manali has the least number of cases with 216 patients currently.
