DD Medical College

Chennai: The Tiruvallur district, which is just a stone’s throw away from Chennai, is getting ready with a 3,000-bed facility at DD Medical College for treating patients infected with coronavirus.

District Collector Maheswari Ravikumar inspected the hospital and directed the authorities to speed up works related to drinking water, toilet, electricity and other basic amenities.

The hospital will have 3,000 beds and would be a special facility for treating Covid-19 patients, an official release said.

It is to be noted that the districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpet account for a lion’s share of Covid-19 cases in Tamilnadu and a total lockdown will be implemented in the above places from 19 to 30 June.
