Chennai: Only a few days ago, a Private Secretary at the office of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami died after testing positive for Covid-19.
According to reports now, four more officials, who frequently visited the Chief Ministerās camp office and his chamber in the Secretariat, too, have tested positive and have been advised home quarantine.
The demise of Senior Private Secretary in the Chief Minister’s office, B J Damodaran, due to Covid-19, has sent shock waves among top bureaucratic circles.
According to sources, all senior officials in the CMO and the Secretariat are being tested for coronavirus by Health department.
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has condoled the death of Damodaran and said a government job would be given to one of his family members.
In his condolence message, he said he was anguished to hear about the death of Damodaran, who was admitted to hospital due to ill-health.
