Chennai: Minister for Cooperation Sellur K Raju has been diagnosed with Coronavirus and been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai.
On 4 July, Sellur Raju’s wife Jayanthi was tested positive for the infection and was admitted to a private hospital in Manappakkam.
Following this, Sellur Raju also underwent the swab test and his test result turned out to be negative. Whereas, Today Sellur Raju has been confirmed with Corona positive.
Sellur Raju becomes the third Minister to test positive coronavirus following Ministers K P Anbazhagan and P Thangamani.
Meanwhile the Central team which is in Chennai to review the coronavirus situation held discussions with Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today at the Secretariat.
Central team of officials led by Additional Secretary from the Union Ministry of Health, Arti Ahuja, which assessed Tamilnaduās Covid-19 containment strategyās success on the ground, will send a report to the Union government soon.
On Thursday, the Central team monitored the pandemic situation in Chennai. The Central team, which includes Rajendra Ratnoo, government of Indiaās monitoring officer for Tamilnadu, visited the exclusive Covid-19 hospital at the Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital at Omandurar estate in Chennai.
