Don’t reopen schools till there is zero Covid-19 case in TN: Prince of Arcot to CM

Chennai: In his appeal to Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, the Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, today expressed his concern and requested the State government to delay the reopening of schools and colleges, until the government declares zero Covid-19 cases in the State.

Opening of educational institutions in the present environment of the virus will be a bad idea. It is like playing with fire, the Prince said.

He pointed out that many parents are of the opinion that they want further delay in reopening of schools and colleges and said that they will not send their children till the coronavirus vanishes completely, the Prince of Arcot added.

“God forbid, physical school and college reopenings will lead to a spike in Covid-19 cases, including children of all ages, particularly middle and high school students may be even more likely to spread the virus than adults.”

The Prince of Arcot is confident that the State government will consider his request in the interest of the welfare of the fellow beings.
