Chennai: As the Tamilnadu government extended the Covid-19 induced lockdown for one more month, the Southern Railway has announcedthat the suspension of seven special trains running within the State has been extended till 15 August.
In a tweet, the General Manager of Southern Railway said, “Special trains in Tamil Nadu stand cancelled till 15th August, 2020. Special http://Train.No.02243/02244 MGR Chennai Central- New Delhi-Chennai Central Rajdhani Spl will continue to run until further advice @DrmChennai @SalemDRM @DRMTPJ @TVC138 @propgt14 @drmmadurai.”
The following trains are cancelled:
Tiruchirapalli-Chengalpattu-Tiruchirapalli SF Intercity (via Virudhachalam)Ā Madurai-Villupuram-Madurai Coimbatore-Katpadi-Coimbatore SF Intercity SpecialĀ Tiruchirapalli-Chengalpattu-Tiruchirapalli (via Mayiladuthurai) Arakkonam-Coimbatore-Arakkonam SF Intercity Coimbatore-Mayiladuthurai-Coimbatore JanshatabdiĀ Tiruchirapalli-Nagercoil-Tiruchirapalli-SF.
Also, oficials at the Chennai International Airport have announced that the restriction on flight operations to Kolkata have been extended till 15 August.Ā Arrivals from Kolkata will continue as scheduled during the period.
