Bengaluru: Close on the heels of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa testing positive for Covid-19, the State’s former CM Siddaramaiah has been confirmed with coronavirus infection.
In a tweet, he said, ‘I have been tested positive for coronavirus & also been admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors as a precaution. I request all those who had come in contact with me to check out for symptoms & to quarantine themselves.’
A day after Yediyurappa tested positive for Covid-19, his daughter Padmavathi has also been infected with the virus. She has been admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, Manipal Hospital where Yediyurappa is admitted to said in a statement, ‘Hon CM of Karnataka Shri BS Yediyurappa has been admitted to Manipal hospital for observation. He is doing well, is clinically stable and will be monitored closely by our team.’
Karnataka Health department has said that all those who met Chief Minister in the last 2-3 days will be tested for Covid-19. The Chief Minister’s travel history of last one week will be checked, it added.
