Chennai: Tamilnadu’s Covid-19 infections crossed three lakh today with 5,914 new cases reported from various parts of the State. The total number of coronavirus affected persons in TN now stands at 3,02,815.
The capital city of Chennai today reported 976 new cases. With this, the total number of persons affected by the pandemic in the metropolis has touched 1,10,116.
The State today saw the death of 114 Covid-19 patients. Health department officials said many of these fatalities were due to comorbidities. The total number of deaths due to the pandemic in Tamilnadu is now at 5,041.
On the positive side, as many as 6,037 patients were discharged from various hospitals in the State today, after they recovered from coronavirus infection.
Total number of recoveries in Tamilnadu so far is 2,44,675, according to the daily bulletin released by the Health department this evening.
